THIRD GRADE- WHERE YOU WILL WATCH YOUR CHILD BLOSSOM & GROW!
CHANGE OF INFORMATION
Please notify me A.S.A.P. of any information changes (pick-ups, phone numbers, addresses, etc.) I must have a current emergency number on file at all times.
PARENT/TEACHER COMMUNICATION
Look for purple folder DAILY of that day’s papers. All papers taken for a grade will have a numerical grade on them and will come home on Tuesdays with the newsletter. Graded papers that have a 70 or below should be signed and returned in the folder the next day. Your child will also keep homework papers in this folder each day.
NEWLETTERS
You will receive a weekly newsletter on Mondays that will let you know about upcoming events, homework, etc. The spelling words for the week will also be included. Please keep these in a prominent location (front of fridge…) so you will have easy access to special events, assignments, etc.
GRADES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Look for papers daily in your child’s purple communication folder. **Please check his/her folder every night in order to keep things “weed free.” If the papers are on the “Keep at Home” side, you may keep them. However, if they are on the “Return” side, you need to read them, possibly sign them, and return them the following school day. Homework will be on the return side. *This is a prime opportunity to communicate with your child about his/her day.
BOOK ORDERS
When you order from the book clubs, please make checks payable to the book company (i.e., Troll or Scholastic) NOT to Albertville Elementary. Please do not send cash.
DONATIONS
Seeds need sun and water…here is what we need to grow. In addition to the school supplies that your child well need, we always welcome donations. Teachers only receive a certain amount of money for instructional supplies every year, and buying things for the classroom can become very expensive for us. Therefore, we humbly ask that anyone who is able, please look at the list of items needed for donation.
THANK YOU
For seven hours-five days a week, I will have your most beloved and cherished possession in my classroom, and I would like to thank you for entrusting me to your child’s education. I can assure you that your child will be in good, caring, and loving hands over the next several months. Thank you for your support and confidence. I look forward to a wonderful and fulfilling year. If you have concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at 894-4822, send a note, email ([email protected] and [email protected]), or set up a conference with me in the front office.
Thanks again,
Mrs. Samantha Childers
Mrs. Nicole Shankles
